The beauty of China and Kenya

China and Kenya

Kenya is located in Africa and China in Asia.
They are very different countries because the economy of China is more developed than the economy in Kenya.
In Kenya there is a lot of people with dark skin, but in China people with light skin predominate.
Other characteristic is that people’s eyes in China are smaller that  the eyes in Kenya.
The language in Kenya is Swahili and in China people speak Chinese.
Below we can see many characteristics of these countries.

China
In china beauty stereotypes follow the next characteristics:
v  Light skin or almost white
v  Porcelain skin
v  Small eyes
v  Long and slim legs
v  Long hair
v  Long eyelashes
v  Tall and slim models
v  Small nose
v  Small feet, among others...

Teens are influenced by this stereotype and create extremist fashions or challenges to know if they have the "perfect body".

For example:

"Leaf challenge"
The goal is that your waist can hide behind a sheet of paper

“Knees challenge”
Your cellphone must cover your knees.

"Clavicle challenge"
You must put many coins or eggs in your clavicles.

“Belly button challenge”
If you can touch your belly button, you are slim.

To get this stereotype, there are many beauty products

For example:

     Make up

Lightening skin products

Products to enlarge the eyes

 False eyelashes

Lenses of different colors

                    Products to burn fat

Perfect nose products

False hair

 Moisturizing masks

In China they wear…

But not everything goes well...

Kenya

v  Dark skin
v  Porcelain skin
v  Big eyes
v  Long and slim legs
v  Short hair
v  Long eyelashes

v  Big nose
v  Big lips

Adolescents are not influenced by this stereotype nor do they create extremist fashions or challenges to know if they have the "perfect body”. They do not care.
